Not all businesses have it and those that don't likely don't have as great of a reputation as those that have consumers loyal to them and to their brand. Why is trust so important? The reason is simple. If a consumer doesn't have faith in your business or your products, they won't want to buy from you. They will tell their friends and their family members not to buy from you and eventually, you won't have nearly as many customers as your competitors likely will. Word of mouth is an extremely effective Marketing tool, whether it is good or bad. You have to gain the confidence of those that purchase from you in order for your business to succeed and become a popular place to go for your type of product.

 

Building credibility is crucial, but it is not something that can be done overnight. It takes time and effort for consumers to build trust in a specific company. Any negative experience that Consumerism has with you can lead to them no longer having trust in you. It is very important that you are careful about the way that you treat consumers and how you handle your business.

 

One thing that you can do in your advertisements is use specific numbers. It needs to be catchy and it needs to be accurate. Use information from your research and don't estimate. People like to know exactly what to expect and when you use exact amounts, they are going to trust you more because it will seem more truthful.

 

Make sure that any claims that you make are proven and can be verified. Don't infringe on any copyrights or patents because it can easily be proven that you don't have what you say you have. What happens when a consumer finds this out? They won't trust you and probably won't want to purchase anything from you in the future. Don't tell tall tales and just be honest about your abilities as a company.

 

You should be sure to let the consumer know all of the details that they need, such as details about your product or service and history of the product or service at your company. Something else that could be useful is giving contact information if a consumer has questions or concerns and making sure that someone is there to answer those questions or concerns. For instance, having an email specifically for product questions can show that you are willing to be open and honest with the consumer about whatever they may need. This instills the sense of trust because you are not holding back information.
